Heavy periods, pain, a missed period or a lump you're worried about are easy to put off talking about. Here you can ask in private, in English or Kiswahili, and get a clear plan, whether that's a test, treatment or a referral.

How to prepare

  • Note the date of your last period and how long your cycles usually are.
  • Bring your Mother & Child Health booklet if you are pregnant.
  • Bring any previous test results, scans or prescriptions.
  • You are welcome to bring a female relative or friend, or ask for a female chaperone.

Obstetrics & Gynaecology: your questions

Do I need a referral to see the gynaecology clinic?

No. You can book or walk in. Our clinicians may also refer you to the clinic after an outpatient visit.

Can I get a cervical cancer screening at Primegala?

Yes. Ask for screening at reception or during your visit. It takes a few minutes and is done in private.

Can I ask for a female chaperone?

Yes. You can always ask for a chaperone during an examination.
